Some 2022 and 2023 stat comparisons per PFF. Unfortunately they dont give the stats per alignment, but the stats they have make this a discussion IMO

2022: 64 targets, 49 receptions. 74.2 %, 457 yards. 3 TD's, 5 INT's 76.4 rating allowed. 430 snaps in slot, 78 on boundry

2023: 27 targets, 13 receptions. 48.1 % , 130 yards, 0 TD's, 3 INT, 22.7 rating allowed
77 snaps in slot, 211 snaps on boundry

Something else to note, he has given up 7 catches on 17 targets for 88 yard the last 3 weeks. In that span he has played slot 4 snaps and boundary 163 snaps

Well. It’s hard to say if the improvement is due to him playing outside or just because he is a 2nd year player who is continuing to get better.

It could be one or the other or a combination of both.

He keeps playing like this outside though, that’s likely where his future will be. Gilmore realistically only has another year max and isn’t under contract next season to boot.

DIGGS and Bland on the outside and find a slot CB.

He did play mostly outside in college and projected there as a pro. Being a low round pick, it could have something to where fan say " maybe he really found his niche in the slot"

We might have found a pro bowl cornerback in the 5th round.
