Is Cowboys 25th ranked offense sustainable

It’s definitely been enough thus far as our #8 ranked defense is only averaging giving up 17 points a game . But that’s been against the 22nd and 23rd ranked offenses in NY and Wash. And Tampa and Cinn are also below average ranked offenses .

How are we going to fare when we go up against more prolific offenses who can score. Hopefully our defense can continue holding our opponents down but you’d think at some point our offense is going to need to improve its output and production at least to average to above average to compliment our top 10 defense if we want to be more competitive against the better teams in the league.

So do you mean the Rams and Eagles?
Have they played any prolific defenses yet?

Maybe the Rams against the Bills. We will see how they do against SF tonight.

Eagles played an improved Jaguars defense, but their offense self destructed with 5 turnovers, most giving the Eagles a short field. But they had a harder time than their 1st 3 games of sustained long drives from What I seen of the game.
Eagles got the Washington defense with 4 missing starters, with both DE's out, which returned for our game.

Not making any excuses, as I agree, how will they do against both offenses. Stafford to Kupp can be lethal at times, and Eagles overall have improved.

Until the offense gets it figured out, the Cowboys will continue to struggle like they did most of the day yesterday.

The less the defense is on the field the better they will be.

Pretty impressive the Egirls overcome 5 turnovers. Their offense is ranked #2 and defense ranked #3 although their competition hasn’t been stellar. They will be a good test and barometer of where we are.

The Rams defense is ranked about middle of the pack and their offense is ranked below ours. I’d expect those rankings to change . They have played 2 playoff teams from last year( Buff and AZ) with another one tonight (SF) and next week (Dak). A tougher opening schedule . We shall see.

The offense isn’t punching in TDs enough, the drives start to sputter around the opponent’s 30.

We’re not going to beat the better teams kicking FGs, Rams and Philly will put pressure on the offense to keep up

No doubt we need more production from offense, however defense has stepped up and kept games close. I have said in the past I don't really care that much for stats, it is about winning football games. Right now Dallas defense has played games that has allowed the offense to not take big risk and as long as they continues I expect offense to play risk free. I do know when the team has needed the offense to step up and put up TD they have done so. Again I would like to see more production from offense but the main stat is wins and loses

Of course. Not being critical of what’s transpired as much as concerns moving forward against more prolific scoring offenses.

Yes, they are going to need to score more points against the better teams, but they still will have a strong defense to rely on.

That’s exactly what it is. We’re leaving 6 to 7 points on the field every game as we start to sputter offensively around the oppositions 30.

The opposition is seeing it happen even more so against us though. That’s truly what allowed us so win these last 3 games.

I understand that, Rams are not the same as Washington or NY, I get that. I still believe that a defense can do a lot to slow down the scoring to keep us in game I would like to see more production but the flow of the game I think will dictate much of what we do and the risk you are willing to take on offense.

It will be interesting to see if the results this season will be more favorable now that we flipped with a top 10 defense and bottom tier offense.

I’d feel much more confident if our offense was closer to average to top 10. Maybe it will improve with our starting QB return.

I meant the Jaguars had 5 turnovers.

Got to take each game at a time. So far,so good. Of course, next week Dallas will probably need at least 30 points to win. And not put the defense in position to have to shut down the Rams completely. That is highly unlikely. The Rams are not world beaters. So they do have a chance, but we shall see. But asking Dak coming off injury and bad play to all of a sudden play at a high level against this team is wishful thinking.

Thing with great defense they can keep you in the game and give you a chance to win. I do expect the offense to start producing at a higher level as we move forward and I think getting Dak back will be a big boost for this offense. Right now as Jimmy Johnson said what is allowing Dallas to win is Rush is not making big mistakes, he has been able to avoid many negative plays relying on defense.

It's a matter of time before we see costly INTs.

Right. Just like we saw Wash defense keep them in the game with their offensive futility .

My concern remains once we begin going up against the better teams like LA and Philly coming up which should provide a better measurement.

The best team we played so far the results weren’t favorable even with our defense holding their own.

No, Rush won't win many shoot outs and sooner or later we are going to need the offense to step up to keep winning.

I would hope Moore would adjust the offense for a high scoring shootout. lol

I think the line struggled yesterday. The rushing game was not that good. I think dalls would have had "Moore points" had the line played better. But those divisional games are all tough battles.

I'm concerned as well, I want to see offense do better, what I don't care about are the ranking. I don't see Dallas defense falling apart, I think Rams are good but I also know Stafford right now is throwing more Ints than TD so pressure can get to him and he can be forced into mistakes. Frankly more concerned with Philly because running QB have seen success vs the defense. You can win in this league without a juggernaut offense, main thing avoid the turnovers setting up opposing offense in great field position and cut down on penalties that tend to kill drives.
