I've outgrown my Moto-G Android phone. It's good as far as it goes. I think it has something like 8 GB of memory, but that's clearly not enough. I went to install some new apps and it complained that it did not have enough memory. I figured no big deal -- I'll just buy microSD card and plug it in for more memory. However, when I took the protective case thing off, I found no memory card slot. #$%^.

I'm wondering if I can find an inexpensive solution by maybe finding a used Android at a pawn shop or online, but I want to make sure I don't mess up and get hosed. I know a ton about PCs, laptops, etc., but honestly not that much about phones. I do know that I can just use my normal gmail login to reinstall all the apps I've bought at Google Play. However, can I simply port my existing Simm card over to the replacement Android and keep going? Also, how do I find out how much memory an Android has? Obviously, that's extremely important, as is an expansion card slot. The biggest mistake I made when buying the MotoG was not making sure it had an expansion card slot.

One more thing: Once you've plugged in a microSD card, is it very hard to direct your Android to install new apps there? How about telling it to put new photos you take there?

Do you think I'll be able to find a used Android that will be an upgrade for me or am I better off just biting the bullet and buying new?

Ive used StraightTalk for about 4 yrs now and I love it, you can usually get a decent Android phone at Walmart for $150.00 and under...and then the Monthly plans are $45 unlimited Calling and texting, the Data used to be unlimited but now once you use a certain amount it takes you down from 4G to "1x" which is of course noticeably slower.....but in 4 yrs Ive never had a dropped call or anything like that....my current phone Ive had for almost 2 years, is a Samsung Galaxy Ace, nothin too special, but its solid and still goin strong. I got it on sale for $90....oh and in the 2 years Ive had this one, never once have I ran out of space, the phone I had before this one did all the time though, so its been nice never having to worry about that...

Read up on your phone and apparently only the first generation was without the microsd slot. Maybe check ebay for the later generations?

BLU brand, pretty cheap. Coworker bought one to play with, he liked it.

Great site to learn about android and various android phones. They also have a good youtube channel with people talking about the various phones and they have a weekly phone giveaway contest as well.

Girl at work went in and got a cheap new samsung. She said she just asked the lady what was the best deal she could get for x amount of dollars.

She brought it to me because she kept getting the message, like OP, of limited room. However she did have a spot for an SD card.

The problem is, after I moved over pretty much what I could move over...she still did not have much, if any at all, room on her phone...because her phone came with a base 8 gb storage and with Marshmellow OS, Samsung bloatware and ATT bloatware it pretty much takes up all the room...this includes all the programs that are pretty much hardwired into the OS like anything google.

8 GBs space for any phone now is silly.

Hell my S3 came with 16 GBs.

If I get another phone down the road I might just give her my old S3. I basically use it as an MP3 player right now anyway.

Moto G4 plus......300 bucks with 64G......... expandable to 128.

16M camera and a 5.5 inch screen......turbo charging. 15 minutes will give you 6 hours.

Rated best phone for the money.
