Who could we draft that could start right now on the OL and where would they start? I know the OL needs addressed but I'm not familiar enough with the college linemen to know who to look at.

Hard to know, once you start going up against some of the premier pass rusher in the NFL the rookie tends to come out as they have not seen some of the moves these top rusher bring to the table.

for where we pick i just think the OT's that are projected to be there are too raw to step in right away. But Iuputi or maybe pouncey could probably step in and start at LG anyone agree?

As a rule Dallas does not start rookie OL. Flozell Adams broke the Cowboys rookie record of 10 games started when he started 12 his rookie year. That record held until Rob Petitti started all 16 his rookie year.

I don't see it happening even if one of them is capable of it.

Hard to say when any player could be ready. We saw Larry Allen start half way into his rookie season. All players develop at different rates so I would not be shocked to see a guy who is a 2nd or 3rd round pick become a starter early in his career even sometimes within their rookie season

Or rookies, period. Terrence Newman in '04, and after that and your 2 examples, I'm drawing a blank.

edit: Ware and Spears, and Julius Jones.

And LA went out to start only because of an injury to the starter IIRC...

1st and 2nd rounders are generally capable, but like they have already said it matters if the coaches give them a shot or not.

I doubt we could draft anybody who could beat out any of our starting OLs day one. Especially where we are positioned in the draft.

many are capable, all depends on the coaches.

I think some are and many are not going to be ready to face some of the best in the business at punishing QB's. I think it take time for rookie lineman in general to be able to handle what will be thrown at them and it also takes time for a rookie lineman to gell with those he plays alongside.

Maybe Safety but doubtful. At least, day one.
