Is This Offense Better Than You Thought?

I knew early on that we hadn't changed much from last year.

And given Dak's ability to spread the ball around, I think he really set the record straight about his ability.

Yesterday was a textbook example of how Dak actually can elevate the guys around him, especially if you consider his production over 3 games. Missing Noah Brown, and Zeke, and the offense still pulled off a nice win.

Tolbert was also having a good game, whether or not he was actually targeted. Overall, great team effort on the offense. Offensive line really did a good job.

No. Think back to how he was playing before he got hurt last year. That's what I was expecting once he got back up to speed.

Now I didn't expect such a big improvement from the Detroit game to yesterday. But I'll take it!

Don't know since we've really just had one top-notch offensive game. Last week, we got five second-half turnovers to help the offense out. This game, the offense took control. Need to see more to know it's not just an anomaly, but it's a promising sign.

No it's worse and will only show up when they play complete teams.

We don't know what "this offense" is, yet. Dak has played 3 games - one bad, one okay, one great. Forget the Cooper Rush stuff. That was holding the fort, agendas notwithstanding.

What "this offense" is remains to be seen.

Well, I'd say it's an extremely talented offense. An offense that has top 5 potential, as-is, but one that has struggled early on due to its best 11 not being 100% healthy. That, and with some new additions, they had to sort of find their identity again, and at the same time adjust to an evolving game at the NFL level. The NFL is the copycat league, as they say. They're just figure out which cat they want to be like. Love that about this young team.

There will be no excuses for Dak. But he's very cool headed and underrated in my opinion. I get upset when he doesn't win the big games. But he'll improve there this year, in my mind, no doubt.

I almost forgot what a great player he is.

I'm going out on a limb and calling my shot now. The defense early on will inspire the offense. And they will be a more explosive (as opposed to aggressive) offense in the 2nd half. And their PPG will increase by at least 8 points

Kellen Moore is actually brilliant. The way he schemed up last game was just clever. Not enough credit for him during this stretch. He's helped out the team more than fans want to admit, imo.

no yesterday was a step in the right direction, but no i’ll need to see more

We already knew the Detroit and Chicago games were winnable and easy prior to the games.....we said Rush should play philthy and then let Dak take over after that. So it just went according to script. The upcoming games will be the key now. Let's hope this past week was no aberration and the offense rolls, will be interesting to see how much PT will Pollard have against the green bean pickers.

Haven't changed my mind yet. But they're doing their job in a way that has been fun to watch. I think a win against Minnie and the Eaglies is necessary to have me surprised.

I really don't understand these threads though. In general I mean. Why would a single game be enough to make up your mind about that? Let Dak play 4 to 5 games and then we're talking and still can't do anything but watching it from a "game to game" perspective. Last year we had the best offense in the league and it got us nowhere.

The one thing I like about what they're doing is that they are sticking to the "keep calm and make no mistakes" strategy. Yes Dak threw an interception when he got greedy that one time. But immediately after that throw they went back to what makes them successful atm. That was cool to watch and I give credit to Dak and Kellen for it. :)

Let's see what this offense does when they get hit in the mouth. Will they fold? Will they hit back harder?

This site runs at 500 miles an hour to jump on the next bandwagon. A bad game and they are the worst ever. A great game and Super Bowl here we come.

Maybe the fans here need to take a deep breath and just allow it to play out a bit before over-reacting in any direction.

:hammer:....Id be interest in seeing whether we're patient enough to continue the run game when behind and chasing....it was the only option when we had the limited Rush, however, now we have Dak I wonder if KM/Dak start to force it.

Everyone needs to also remember that coming into that ge Chicago was the 10th ranked defense in the NFL, so while we need to see consistency it wasn't like we just beat the worst defense

Yes, but they arent a top ranked run defense. It's that Denver Blueprint that MAY cause more of a concern, the games where we can't or struggle to establish a run game (admittedly this year our O-Line appears better at run blocking and Zeke/Dak fitter to vary the attack) and whether we continue to run (to establish space in the secondary later on in the game), or we start to force it.

That and chasing games are the questions we've yet to answer....but yes at the moment we are certainly looking pretty good.

I think the offense can be really good with Pollard in a larger role simply because we can turn around and hand the ball off and score a 60 yard TD at any time.

With Zeke we’re really just box’d in.

If Dak stays healthy we’re a wild card team. Wee need a Dec 24th win.
It’s always been insane this Dak disparagement but oh well.

The offense was always going to good once we got Gallup back. The reality is when you lose your left tackle, left guard and quarterback before the end of game 1 you gonna have problems. As well as Rush played he still is backup quarterback. You can see that they limited the play book when he was the quarterback.

The Chicago game was encouraging. Let's see consistency...

THIS ^^^^

This was my first thought. Looked good to great, but want to see it over the next 3 games.

GB in which they have our number with AR. Many will think this is a winnable game, but it will not be easy by any means.
Then a 6-1 Vikings team, then the 6-2 NYG team.

Do that to some degree against these teams no matter where the defenses are ranked. Then we can talk and compare.
