Starting to think this makes the most sense. Basically a one-year rental with a high ceiling.

Dallas Cowboys: With Tyron Smith suffering a knee injury in practice this week that will sideline him until at least December, if not for the entire season, the Cowboys might be willing to explore the trade market in the coming days. If they do, they will likely take a serious look at Wynn.

Frankly, they might have to, as Blogging The Boys’ RJ Ochoa recently explained:

This problem wasn’t avoidable in the sense that it could have been prohibited, but the magnitude of the fallout could have been seriously mitigated with some proper attention delegated to the right places. The Cowboys felt like that was unnecessary and here we are.

It is still not too late for Dallas to make some not terrible lemonade out of these lemons, but they have to act quickly. The regular season is just about here and expectations around Mike McCarthy are as high and pressing as they have ever been.

He appears to be an ideal stop-gap candidate to replace the franchise’s long-time starting left tackle in 2022, after all: despite his own injury history being substantial, Wynn offers plenty of experience as a starter at the position and would only be a short-term commitment before his trip to free agency next year.

Dallas would also have the salary cap space to absorb his sizable contract. Additionally, sending Wynn out of the AFC might also be in New England’s best interest.

Yeah let’s trade for a player when teams know we’re desperate. It would be a very Jerry move to trade a 2nd round pick for an average player in the last year of his contract.

Yeah. Should have signed someone prior or traded for Wynn before the injury. Now. No leverage

SI's Albert Breer reports the Patriots have "talked with other teams" about trading OT Isaiah Wynn.
Wynn was the No. 23 overall pick in the 2018 draft and is entering the final year of his deal, one that is set to pay him a $10.413 million salary on his fifth-year option. The Patriots have already made the decision to move Wynn from left tackle to right tackle this offseason, and now he appears to be losing the job to Yodny Cajuste. Wynn wouldn't fetch much more than a late-round pick with his inflated salary. He's made 33 career starts.

Why would they trade their starting RT for a late round pick? I think they’ll hold out for a day 2 pick and Jerry will probably give it to them.

That's silly.......no one is giving them a first or second-day pick. Pats will be lucky to 6th or 7th rounder.

I wouldn't like it if they traded a 2nd for him, but it wouldn't be their worst use of a 2nd in the last 10 years. A third and I'm on board, especially if McClay is.

But how about Jourdan Lewis and a 5th? Now we are cooking with gas.

Point taken regarding 2nd round picks as we traditionally waste them but it’s still not worth it. I wouldn’t trade a 4th for Wynn.

It will depend on trade price, no way should they give up a day 1 or day 2 pick to land him.

He makes some sense, but not the most sense. He isnt a good LT. Probably only a passable RT. Plus we wont get the value we want in a trade.

I wouldn’t give up more than a 5th. New England would be motivated to move him because they don’t want to pay big money to a backup, and probably doesn’t want to deal with a demoted starter.

It could work for both teams, as long as Dallas is willing to pay his salary this season… which I’m not sure they would be.

The guy has essentially negative value. His base salary this year is 10 million and he has been booted from LT to RT. If Jerry gets fleeced by NE out of desperation I will lose my mind.
