“If you understand the defense, then you can really play anywhere on the field. I feel like that's where I can separate myself, because I have a high IQ in football. And I understand our defense now even better. You just gotta do whatever it takes to get to your goals,” he said, “Whether that's just staying up extra to study or extra workouts.”
Loved this draft pick. Love this kid. Great attitude. Great football IQ. Really really pulling for him. And this just gets my juice's going even more:
Izzy's competitive nature drives him to be the best version of himself, but when it comes to his teammates, collaboration and cooperation govern those relationships far more than competition. Mukuamu says he's been in touch with Gilmore since he was in college. He plans to soak up as much knowledge and wisdom as possible from his new teammate. Izzy expects his own growth to be impacted “tremendously” by Gilmore's presence on the team.
Let's freakin' go!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whenever this kid was on the field it seemed like good things happened. The newfound depth at safety limited how often that was. I think if Quinn uses him as a dime CB or something it will work out well.

Let's face it; the C'boys need to arrive at a Super Bowl before Mukuamu can save the day for them.
It's noble that he'd be willing to try, though. He's probably putting the cart before the horse, however!
I wouldn't be surprised, in the slightest, if Dan Quinn gave him a chance at some future time, though. :flagwave:

Last preseason I put a note out touting this kid. I kept seeing 24 do positive things. Took a lot of heat with that post. Guys saying he was a camp body. Bound for the practice squad. Won’t see the field. Typical stuff. That guy showed up time and again in the regular season. Always seemed to be making plays. Has some dawg in him too. Great pick.

surprised me down the stretch last year. Feel good about our CB depth if he’s CB4
It really was kind of comforting to watch how he and Bland played at the end of the year. Both very pleasant surprises and bot should be better this year with another year of experience. I wonder if Mukuamu's long term position is CB or FS; I think he can play either at this level. As awesome as our DBs look to be this year there are an awful lot of them whose contracts expire after this year. The DB room may look quite different next year. Having Bland and Mukuamu on rookie deals will help

Key DBs with Contracts expiring after 2023
Diggs
Gilmore
Lewis
Kearse
Hooker

I, myself, like any reference to a commitment that reflects a Michael Irvin as to payment of self in effort...no Sir, this fan won't make fun of a Cowboy throwing in on TEAM!
Yes sir! Some of these, so called fans are just looking to turn anything into a negative. Not their fault, there are no locker rooms in Madden.

Love the confidence talk, but when all else fails......might need this to get the SB trophy.

Its the focal point of Quinns defense, and why the depth is there.

Strong - Kearse, Muk, Coyle, JT.
Weak - Wilson, Hooker, Bell, SR.
Thats a solid Safety room, don't care what anybody else says.

LCB - Gilmore, Wright, Joseph, ITS
RCB - Diggs, Bland, Goodwin

Muk can easily be introduced into CB room, but Im looking at Muk as a DB, defensive back meaning that his value is his flexibility between S/CB.
That ability alone, being able to cover two positions in a pinch is value enough for retention.
Muk has a very solid role moving forward.

Loved this kid coming out. I think you are right he can do both. I don’t think you want him lined up on the outside all day at cb but Quinn is really good at finding a way to play a guy to his strength
