I've heard from multiple "experts" re: Wade

I keep hearing on the radio and on ESPN that Wade became more involved in the defense at the beginning of this 4 game run we're on. Does anyone know what they're talking about? I must have missed something. I thought Wade has been involved at the same level with this defense since he took over play-calling duties from Brian Stewart.

Speaking of Stewart, I love him being in Philly. :)

Wade has been running the show for well over a year now. He took over the D last year even with Stewart here.

I would say the difference between this D and the D last year even when Wade was running it is continuity. Just because Vince Lombardi comes to your team doesn't mean they instantly win a championship.

Not to compare wade to lombardi, but the point is the same. It takes time. Even when Wade was D coordinator for other teams, he doesn't get hired and immedietly have a tremendous D. It takes time to gel. And this team has been gelling defensively for a few months.

My two cents anyway.

I don't know how he could be more involved than being the DC...which he decided to do last year.

That's what I thought.

I think the personnel on the defense is just now finally 'getting' the whole system, which is allowing us to do many different things. The beginning of this year it was all still coming together, but as the season went on the defense just got better and better.

It could have just been Ditka mistaking the 2008 and 2009 seasons.

Wade fully took over the D this season. He did take over for Stewert last season, but his level of participation (running all meeting, etc) amped up this year. I'm not sure what they are referring to regarding him increased role late this season...that sounds hokey.

Could be Wade got more involved in some aspect of the defense -- maybe the coverages Campo was calling. If there was one thing the defense has been doing better lately, I think it's been downfield coverage.

Well whatever it is he's doing and the team is doing I like it and they need to continue to do it.

ditka is senile. He is confusing last years wade taking control of the defense with this year. He also said hes going to buy 8 cent cheeseburgers and the jets will play the colts.

Remember all the cute articles about Wade throwing Stewart under the bus for the defensive collapse in '08? Those were great, weren't they?

If the media's reporting his involvement increased over the last month, they've got it wrong again.

The defense is better because of Sensabaugh, Brooking, Carpenter, Olshansky, Spencer, Jenkins, Bqll, and Scandrick. The offense scoring first forces the other team out of their game plan, and the defense feeds on that too.
