Nothing against Ferg, love the player, but I would love even more to see him develop into some sort of down field threat. Just 1 catch this year on those intermediate routes, 10 all of last season. I think this is the one piece of his game that keeps him from being that top 5 guy with so many good TEs in the league right now.

I get it but that's not how the Cowboys scheme is setup to use him.

On the deeper routes I would agree, but the Cowboys should be set up pretty well to get him the football on those intermediate 10-15 yarders though. He seems to run quite a few of those routes too, they just dont turn into completions very often.

Ferg might be better, but Schultz is not crying in Houston. He's got a signal caller over there that gets him the ball as well.

Just example #5000 of this team needing another receiver.

The OL also hasn't held up well enough for him to get downfield with any consistency, especially when he's chipping.

Bingo, they could probably get by with the subpar run game if they had a legit #2 receiver. Tolbert shows signs, but I don't think he is that guy to really force attention away from Ferg/Lamb yet. If they make any trades at the deadline this year a WR should be priority #1.

Cowboys made the right decision on Schultz. Ferg is better.
Except they didn’t really make the decision. They offered Schultz a contract and he declined it. They still made the wrong decision after when they drafted schoon. Ferg made the decision for them not the other way around. This organization mishandled the TE position badly
