Ohio State All-American linebacker James Laurinaitis told the Plain Dealer this afternoon that he will return for his senior season at Ohio State.

"To be honest with you, there was a lot of praying and trying to trust the Lord and there were certain signs," Laurinaitis said. "Talking to my mom this weekend, whenever I talked to her about coming back next year with the Buckeyes I was more excited than anything about the NFL. I'm having too much fun at Ohio State."

Laurinaitis said he anticipated he would have been a top 10 pick in the NFL Draft in April. With his return, the Buckeyes retained five of the six juniors who considered leaving for the NFL, with only defensive end Vernon Gholston going pro.

Thanks to Carpenter, I am a very leary of Laurinaitis at the MLB position. Him not declaring hurts us if other players move up the boards now.

Gholston was 1 of 6 Jr's to leave Ohio St. Wow. Im pretty shocked Laurianitis is returning to school I thought he would be a Top 8 pick.

I guess those players returning as Seniors was a big deal for them. The experience will only help him in his final year if he makes it through injury free. Must suck for some football programs knowing that they have a LB capable of starting for an NFL team. ouch

Sucks for the Pats as I had him slotted there.

Of course, they'll pick someone else that high anyway and he'll be a Pro Bowler - bastids.

How do you know? The guy is a man of faith. The Pats are Godless so they wouldn't be interested.

The OSU defense is a pretty tight group and they all want to go for one more run.

I can't imagine staying in shcool if it were me. Millions of dollars, or go to the NFL. Seems like a no brainer to me, but good for him.

Of course I can't even spell shcool right, so maybe that would have factored into my decision.

One more chance to get there heads handed to them.
