Went to go see Jason Bourne this weekend. I am actually a big fan of that franchise but I have to say, this was a little bit of a disappointment to me. It was not bad but my expectations were high and that might be part of the problem. It seemed like it was just a bit of a retread of what had been done in the past.

It's still worth seeing but maybe wait for RedBox.

Way too much shaky camera and unnecessary cut scenes for me to enjoy very much. That director (Greengrass?) has gotten worse with each ensuing Bourne movie with the shaky cam. It made my eyes bleed.

fan of the series but like you - this one just smells retread.

So an alien aversion to H2O in Signs was a little too far fetched for you but a 45 year old who never loses a fight and never misses a shot was within your threshold of acceptability? :)

No. I think I just said that the 45 year version was not all I hoped for either. However, if you are asking me to stretch the limits of my mind on this thing, I'm going to come down on the side of the 45 year old super hero, as opposed to the extraterrestrial jugheads who can't figure out that Water is wet. Maybe it's just me.

I'd never ask you to stretch you mind ABQ...you might pull something.

Been kinda skeptical about this one too. They all gotten progressively worse. Really didn't like the one with Jeremy Renner, that chick that was in it was annoying as hell.

I liked it
6.5/10
Mindless action thriller
What's not to like?
Those looking for a deeper meaning will be disappointed

You let me worry about that.

I feel as though this is a chance I have to take. It can not be allowed to continue, this madness of comparing Bourne to Signs.

Your post was my guess on how it would be.

They did the great big reveal in the 2nd sequel.
Then did another movie with Renner. I liked it too.

What was going to be "whoa" in this one?

I am curious about XXX3
Vin diesel did first movie.
Balked at 2nd. ICE CUBE.
Diesel is back for 3rd XXX

That's the first thing I noticed... WAY to much action (shaky) cam. It was very distracting. Every since the ending fight scene in Lethal Weapon 1, action flix have used too much pov and action cam.

The movie itself was OK. The third best of the series in my opinion.

Another thing, Bourne only seems to be able to steal cars with manual transmissions. The cab he stole had a stick. Seriously? I know they want to zoom in on downshifting and popping the clutch, but a cab with manual transmission?

I saw it last week and was underwhelmed. Thought they could have ended the movie and series all at once at the very end but it was clearly left open for another chapter.

These films just get worse and worse. Enjoyed Identity a great deal though.
