he will be 33 in Dec and skills are diminishing. I don't see it yet.

yep, he figured that out in two games. He forgot that the man was injured for most of camp and is probably not completely up to speed with the offense.

Jaws is silly.

He hasn't played a lot of games since he got cut by the Eagles.

Also his age may say 33 but he is in shape like a 24 year old.

TO is the last guy im worried about.

I like Jaws but he's so WRONG about TO skills. I don't see what he sees at all.. I think Jaws is still pissed at TO stay in Philly...

and I know they are different receivers but Harrison is like 32/33 himself.

How can anyone draw such definitive conclusions after just 2 games and TO was injured in one of them? These ESPN talking heads are a disgrace.

:hammer:

I had to laugh at Tom Jackson's redundancy - "selfish, egotistical, and egomanical as he is".

Tom must have aced the synonym quiz.

Did you notice that he tried to defend the media overload about the situation?

I was ok with Irvin's response, tho some may not since he didn't "seemingly" defend TO.

As for Jaws, like Ms Mamacita said, how can you be so definitive after only two games and coming off a hammy injury? I'm sure we'll know soon enough.

I didn't really expect him to "defend" Terrell as much as I expect him to understand the situation considering his past. Maybe his exploits back in the day did cause a distraction to the team and he realizes it. I just expected him to come out and say that it's not a distraction and was surprised he didn't.

Yeah, Jackson started to defend the media when Irvin talked about the ratings factor.

That's been my worry since he was signed, that normal aging and the wear and tear of nagging injuries plus the lay-off had rendered him less that what we were expecting.
I don't care how great he LOOKS, you can be an Adonis at 50 and have lost your goods.

But til Owens is completely healthy (and in complete game shape) we won't know if he can be the player he was in Philly in 04. Even 90% of that player could spell SuperBowl bound.

The good news is that at half speed and 33 with a broken hand and maybe a still less than 100% hammy, he has to be accounted for - with TWO defenders.

btw, that was sic, egomaniAcal.

Answer: Charlie Joiner, Cliff Branch, Jerry Rice, Tim Brown.
Question: Name some NFL receivers who took care of their bodies and played well(and played very well) into their late 30s and beyond.

Had Mike said TO doesn't present a distraction, then he would have been insinuating that he hadn't been either...and he looked pretty abashed during the discussion, imo. So clear he regrets his own past antics. I think MI has more intellectual honesty than to say or imply last week's circus doesn't qualify as a "distraction"...he knows better than anyone what a distraction is.

What surprised me a bit was Mike not saying that it's how the team reacts to the distraction that counts. There can be a silver lining in all this nonsense if the team really has circled its wagons as a result of it.

Mike's been a loyal TO supporter, but he himself is always under a microscope, and any apologias are going to be interpreted as taking himself off the hook retroactively.

TO's last season numbers in Philadelphia through 7 games, 47 catches for 706 yrds and 6 tds.

If you extrapolate this for 16 games, he would have recorded 106 catches 1613 yds and 13 tds.

I liike Jaws much more than most on these boards. But he is mistaken here.

Exactly but facts never seem to stop medidiots from drawing thier own conclusions.

Im not calling him Jerry Rice, but he's on that level (not saying TO is the greatest of all time), but Rice played well into his late 30's. As did Tim Brown. Keenan McCardell. Jimmy Smith. Isaac Bruce.

And besides Rice, no one on that list can touch TO, so I don't know what Jaws is thinking
