Any chance heavy interest in top WRs is a massive smokescreen? Or have they just realized Gallup is no longer a viable top 3 WR option? There's no way they are drafting a WR at 26 to sit or play limited snaps.

Doubt it's a smokescreen. These visits are too valuable to waste them like that.

I'm pleasantly surprised they are this interested in WR after the Cooks trade. Surround this QB with weapons.

I think so. You have to weigh all of your options. I've always felt their draft position is one where they should trade down because they aren't going to like what's there. Someone like this MAY fall to them and they are going to have to make a tough decision on a position they are already set at over a position they aren't but can get later.

Its like the Lamb year. I'm sure they had intentions of getting Chaisson or maybe trading down and getting Diggs. They took Lamb....2nd round came around and Diggs was still there available. They may have to wait and get that need in the 2nd round.

No they are interested. After Lamb, everyone else is short term. They will probably move on from Gallup next year, and Cooks will probably be here two. Gallup is injury prone, and honestly guys lile JNS and Flowers might make him the #4 anyways

Agreed. Based on their top 30 and other visits, WR at #26 is the leader in the clubhouse right now. I would not have predicted that a month ago.

With that said, if a top CB or EDGE falls, they would also be in the mix.

Even though I am not a big fan of drafting WRs in the first round unless they have off the charts physical and receiving skills like Irvin, Moss, Bryant, and Cooper out of college. This article, his size, combine drill, and 2021 season would allow me to take a late round trade down or trade up to draft JSN if he felled to the Cowboys or could fall below with a trade down for extra pick and the boys still pick him up:

Garrett Wilson stands by his opinion that Jaxon Smith-Njigba is the best Ohio State wide receiver between himself and Chris Olave. Talking to Yahoo Sports' Matt Harmon from Super Bowl LVII Radio Row, the former Ohio State and current New York Jets wide receiver gave people a preview of what Smith-Njigba could do in the NFL after three seasons with the Buckeyes. "Jaxon is a cold-blooded man, man," Wilson said. "That boy is, we call him 'The Natural.' He's got hands, he's got feet that will throw you by, make you miss. He'll do the laundry for you. Jaxon's cold, man. I'm confident that wherever he goes, he's going to make a big impact early." Smith-Njigba tweeted that he appreciated the kind words from Wilson, knowing that both him and Olave was the kind of production he was chasing. "Always appreciate it," he wrote. "Both you guys are the BEST though! It's fun to chase greatness."

In 2021, Smith-Njigba set school single-season records with 95 catches for 1,606 receiving yards, including a 15-reception, 347-yard day against Utah in the Rose Bowl in which he scored three touchdowns. But in 2022, Smith-Njigba spent the majority of the season sidelined with a hamstring injury, and was limited to five receptions for 43 yards against Notre Dame, Toledo and Iowa. Ahead of Ohio State's College Football Playoff semifinal game against Georgia, the school announced he would not play in the Peach Bowl and instead enter the 2023 NFL draft. - Columbus Dispatch

Looking at his 10yd split, he is still limited with the hamstring. His short shuttle time, which is excellent, does not coincide with a 1.65 10yd split, which is slow. Somebody could be getting a steal late in the draft. His 2021 season was Amari Cooper like.

McDonald and Forbes are real possibilities.

It's with WR that the same as last year may happen where they were interested in alot of guys, but they all went ahead of us. Flowers has been talked up as a guy that may go alot higher than expected

I honestly don't think he's in trade up range, unless trade up range involves doing something really stupid.

Agreed.

IMO, you can find a quality starting LG (Dalton Risner) and DT depth (A’Shawn Robinson) post draft and see no significant drop off.

WR, CB seem much tougher to find. So I’m ok going BPA

Would you jump up to 20 to get him?

Would probbaly cost you pick 90.
I would absolutely if he’s the future.

We always get comp picks the following year, so I never worry about losing picks

The haters disagree, but you likely see minimal turnover and rookies on the 53 this year.

1 RB, 1 TE, 1 G, 1 DT, 1 LB, 1 K

I see about 6-8 open spots.
