Chargers (1-0) at Patriots (1-0)

If the Patriots did videotape their opponents, that’s a blatant form of cheating. I have never heard of that before.

The NFL faces a tough call in what to do to Bill Belichick and the Patriots. You can’t make the Pats forfeit their game against the Jets – the NFL is not designed for that sort of punishment.

Another subplot will if Jets coach Eric Mangini turned in the Patriots. If you thought that rivalry was mean-spirited before, just wait. We’ll have to watch to see what more comes out.

This will be a distraction for the Patriots. They’re always very good about blocking things out and focusing on football, but it’s more difficult when it involves the coaching staff. The media will be prying, digging for more information. Every question the Patriots players and coaches face will be on this subject.

Add to that the opponent this week, the Chargers. New England vs. San Diego was already a great story because of the hard feelings between the teams. The Patriots upset the Chargers in last year’s playoffs, then celebrated on San Diego’s home field. That didn’t sit well with the Chargers, especially LaDainian Tomlinson.

Plus, San Diego is a great team again. They looked rusty against the Bears, but that’s in part because Chicago’s defense is so good. The Chargers, and especially Tomlinson, will have more success this week.

But Belichick is very good at creating an “us against the world” mentality, and that’s what he’ll do here. The Pats will be focused, and with Randy Moss playing well, they are just too tough.

Pick: Patriots

Cowboys (1-0) at Dolphins (0-1)

The Dolphins gave up a lot of yards to the Commanders last week, but they did stiffen up when it mattered. The Commanders should have had more points, considering how many yards they piled up.

For the Cowboys, Marion Barber is a tough, tough running back. I’m surprised they don’t use him more often. In practices I saw, he was hitting really hard, and I was impressed.

Dallas could have some high-scoring games. And they’ll need to score a lot, because the Cowboys defense has a lot of holes.

They need to focus on stopping the Dolphins’ rushing attack, and they should be able to do that. As long as Dallas’ defense can do its job, the offense will find a way.

Tony Romo seems to have a good chemistry with Terrell Owens, Jason Witten and Patrick Crayton.

Pick: Cowboys

I would love to see Cowboys put up 30+ points to shut the deadskins fans crap about Miami's #5 defense.

I like his analysis in regards to the Cowboys-Dolphins matchup... Who cares about the Patriot or the Chargers.

remember last year the Colts got bashed about their bad defense?

this just may be a great sign for us as the Colts won the Super Bowl

"who cares?!" "who cares?!"

FYI, there's kind of this big thing going on with the Pats and Belichick right now.

I thought somebody might like to see an ex-Cowboys opinion on the matter so I threw it in there too.

His comment that Belicheck will use this "spygate" incident to get his team ready to play is right on. That's one of the reasons I believe Belicheck should be suspended immediately for 8 games with absolutely no direct or indirect contacts with any Pat officials, coaches or players
