MOVING UP
Every year there is a workout freak on the offensive line and the GLIAC will repeat as having that prospect with Veldheer last year and Grand Valley State OT Cameron Bradfield this year. He struggled greatly in the Cactus Bowl but at 6’4, 301 pounds he ran a 4.81 and 4.89 in the 40-yard dash and posted solid numbers on the bench press (30), vertical (26 ½), and broad jump (8’8). He’s not just a workout warrior as a three-time All-GLIAC selection and 2010 AFCA All-American and GLIAC Offensive Lineman of the Year. The late rounds are a strong possibility.
The fastest small school prospect from the pro days was definitely Lindenwood WR Jamere Holland who ran a 4.36 at 5’11, 190 pounds. He also had a 4.26 short shuttle and 6.93 3-cone. His jumps and bench were not very good but he is a talented prospect who transferred from Oregon and lit up the HAAC as a 1st team PR, 2nd team WR in 2010. He finished with 899 yards and eight touchdowns (21.4ypc) and averaged 17.7 yards per punt return as well. We don’t believe he will get drafted but with speed like he has it would not be surprising to see him taken late in the draft after the season he had.
It’s hard to believe a player from Baldwin-Wallace would get drafted but DE/OLB Keith Darbut very well could as he has garnered attention from a lot of teams and several have worked him out privately since posting a 4.38 40 at 6’4, 229 pounds at his pro day. Darbut also posted a 38 inch vertical, 10’6 broad jump, 4.45 short shuttle, and 26 bench reps. His senior season flew under the radar for some reason but was impressive with 15 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks. He’s a late round sleeper to keep an eye on who will worst case be signed as a free agent.
