Jerrah states we're in the hunt for the title... this year

Someone needs to tell Jerry that this team is too stupid to be this year's version of the 2011 Giants.

Ahhhh PT Barnum at his best.........

Funny part is that some really believe him.

I've got no issues with him saying that. It neither harms nor helps the team. It sells copy.

So what?

And this has been the problem for this organization. They feel entitled to put their name out there as a contender without putting in the work to do so. This team can't execute worth a damn in late game situations and can barely run basic plays without screwing up...this is far from a contender but nope, because they're the Cowboys, it's automatically assumed that they can and should contend every year despite ignoring the team's flaws and what holds them back in the process.

I wish we had leadership who would just be brutally honest - we're not a good team and we won't be contending for anything until we correct the fundamental mistakes that have been plaguing the team EVERY year. Super Bowl? Playoffs? How about just running the right play properly, without committing a penalty, dropping a ball, etc. You do all those things then of course you'll be in the hunt for all those things down the road. But instead, Jerry tries to put the cart before the horse and it definitely rubs off onto the players.

It's delusional at best, lying at worst and that is bad.

I think folks around here would really have a problem if Jerry said,"We aren't in the hunt this year we suck don't bother watching us this year." I wouldn't like it anyway.

I would actually appreciate the honesty.

If anyone who is a part of the team doesn't believe that this team has a chance to compete for a championship this season, they have no business being in the NFL.

This!

There are probably 18 teams that have some chance to win a Super Bowl this year. Parity prevails. Yes I see the Cowboys as one of those 18 teams...maybe in the top dozen.

But when the team hasn't one but one playoff game in eternity...and sits today with a losing record...Jerry just needs to SHUT. UP.:banghead:

Word. Fans are tired of getting our hopes up. Right now the team looks mediocre at best. Is it within the realm of possibility that it could get hot and make a serious playoff run. Sure, it's possible, but I'm not holding my breath.

Yes, Jerry, just shut up. Your comments aren't something for fans to cheer about. Give us something on the field to cheer about.

Right on the friggin' :money:

What is he supposed to say ? Season over pack it in ?

Come on guys. You're smarter than this. Jerry Richardson is saying the Panthers aren't done, Andy Reid is saying the Eagles aren't done...

That's P.R., that's sales, it's called a diversion technique.

GM/Owner is not part of the team, his Role is to keep his mouth shut, let the coach, coach, and assemble the talent to win a championship.

It been 15 years and we're still not there.

Enough with the BS

Just like they said on the radio this morning ... JJ is the greatest salesman ever. Of course he said this ... and will say this until the day he dies.

Wait so the owner is not part of the team? Bill Gates is not part of Microsoft? The Rooney's aren't part of the Steelers? Mark Cuban isn't part of the Mavericks?

My gosh that's a reach.
