So, both teams were wearing their dark color jerseys in the Cowboys-Broncos game. When did this become a thing? Is this just for the preseason? Don't remember seeing that much.

The bumbling morons during the Denver broadcast made comments about the Cowboys not bringing their white jerseys, but didn't specify why they were both in their colored uniforms. Why o, why won't the Cowboys wear the silver pants they wear with the blue jerseys with their white jerseys??

The blue on the white jerseys (royal) isn't the same as the color of the blue jerseys (navy), so the pants end up being different too.

Seems like consistency would be easy, but jersey sales don't appear to be suffering from it.

They wore navy because this week against the Chargers they will be wearing the white uniform as Chargers will be wearing their powder blues. Because Broncos wore orange Cowboys were allowed to wear navy. This meant the staff responsible don't have to worry about getting the uniform clean between the 2 games, particularly difficult as they are still on the road. Keeps it simple, different uniforms for each road game.

Would this be allowed in the regular season?

It could be a 70s TV thing, but it seemed that the jersey numbers on the white ones matched the dark blue on the helmets back then. They had a shine to them, and appeared to be ironed on.

The font was changed some time around 83, probably when they got rid of the royal blue roadies.

Maybe someone who wasn't a kid back then can offer me some knowledge.

I'd rather they wear the blues until they fix the blue on the whites! IMO, the whites look terrible with all that "giants" blue instead of the true blue that's on the star. And the pants sheesh, why can't they get a real silver pant color?

The pants
I do NOT like the new light blue pants over the seafoam green. But the latter is absurd, really.

They should use grey pants. Same color as the grey on the helmet, both home and away.

It's just a weird uniform overall, but I still get chills for a second every time I first see the team in the traditional whites.

Not sure but I doubt it

There have been plenty of color vs. color games in the regular season, even aside from color rush. We played Denver color vs. color back in 2001 or so. More recently we played a color vs. color game at home in 2017 or 2018 against the Chargers on Thanksgiving and that was even two different shades of blue jerseys. Personally I love color vs. color when there's good contrast like navy vs. orange or navy vs. red. I've always wanted to see us go color vs. color against San Fransisco, navy/silver vs. red/gold would look so good.

Not forgetting the Miles Austin game at Kansas City in 2008.

I would like to see the one team has to wear White rule scrapped

If you're gonna lead the league in penalties, might as well look good doing it. Dammmm, who gives a freak what they are wearing?
