LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Jessica Simpson is engaged to her boyfriend of less than a year, former NFL player Eric Johnson, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

"Yes, I am excited to confirm that they are engaged!" a rep for Jessica told Access on Sunday.

A source for Us Weekly claimed that the former "Newlyweds" star and Eric became engaged on Thursday -- just over a week after Jessica's famous ex-husband, Nick Lachey, and his longtime love, Vanessa Minnillo, broke the news of their own engagement.

The 30-year-old singer-actress-mogul was reportedly seen sporting a "sizable ring" at Dilliard's at Oak Park mall in Kansas City on Saturday.
