Jets - Cowboys Wednesday practice report (Thursday Update)

Cooks DNP, something up or just a vet day off?
After no action in the preseason games - followed by 34 plays on offense = 59% of the Cowboys total (how many in the 2nd half?) in the FIRST regular season game - a "vet day off" ain't the reason Cooks is missing a practice.

There is a tweet out there, MM saying Cooks expected back to practice, or something like that.
If I read it correctly.

For three and a half hours on Sunday, CeeDee is going to have a very close relationship with Sauce Gardner. It's going to be an interesting matchup.
Sauce doesn't move around, but CeeDee does. CeeDee plays a lot of slot which is also the position of the Jets' weak link.

Sauce doesn't flip sides, just play CeeDee opposite side no worries about that, but Diggs had some success against Sauce on Monday night, he's not someone you can't have success against.

I agree, Lamb is just as much a Pro Bowler at his position as Gardner. Not only that, but who does Lamb practice against every day?

I think Lamb will win some, other times it will be best to throw somewhere else.

Good news is the Jets starting OTs aren't 100% going against DLaw n crew. Bad news is Cooks because I'm not liking the idea of Gallup n Tolbert vs this Jets secondary.
Lamb, Gallup, and Tolbert is still a lot stronger than Lamb, Noah Brown, and Dennis Houston, the three WR's with the most snaps in game #2 last season. At least there is that. Plus, you never know, maybe Tolbert can even bring it to a higher level. It would be so reassuring if he were to have, say, three catches for 50 yards.

There is depth at WR and even more depth at receivers.
RBs with hands
TEs with hands
Probably even a FB with hands
