Sucks. He'll eventually play because everyone wants to get paid, but I'd be willing to bet he won't be playing for the Jets in two seasons.

The guy deserves to get paid. Everyone wants to say "Oh, how can they be so greedy...making already a million, I'd do it for free/I'm unemployed." All of that is nonsense. Change your shoes. Suppose that you're company is now raking in triple that it was in sales, yet your salary remained the same. You're going to want a bigger piece of that pie...only this pie is in millions of dollars. They'll give in and pay him; he's not being selfish or greedy. The guy just happens to be aware that he was the most integral part of the league's best defense and needs to be reciprocated while he still can.

Our D is better but you are obviously right in everything else.

No I'm pretty sure it's greed, sorry.

The man is amazing, deserves to make far more than he is, and I can't possibly believe the Jets would be unwilling to accommodate.

But that's not what Revis is asking for. He's not asking to just be paid a lot more. He wants more than anyone else, and **** his team if they won't give it to him.

I call greed when I see it.

His problem is that he's working off the Raiders payscale, that, of course, can't be right.

10 days of holdout now.

I love Darrelle Revis...keeping the spotlight off our Boys. ESPN is updating on Revis EVERY day, as if we need to hear about it again until he decides to show up.

If you were working at a job and you were the best worker there and was making say 7.50 an hour and you have slackers making 15 dollars an hour, I think you might be upset. Revis is in that situation. I always find it hard to imagine though when your talking a deal for say 5 years at 75 million or 5 years and 60 million that when you get up to that high of a pay scale why players complian about another 10 million. Thats another 2-3 million a year but my point is when you get a 60 million dollar deal when taxes etc are done your probably recieve 35 million of it and if thats not enough money to live off of then you have problems. I can see if your being offered 5 years 9 million and you want 5 years 15 million, theres a difference there. When you talk 60 or 75 million your just talking 7-8 million more dollars after taxes that you will probably never spend.

It's only greed to those who are jealous of the fact that they're not able to demand the same kind of money for what they're doing.

If you could play football like he does you'd be asking for the same thing he is, no matter how often you come on a sports forum and claim you wouldn't.

He held out before eventually signing his current contract. It is his own fault for signing it in the first place.

The Jets have more leverage than Revis on this one. I think they will eventually sign him, but not for the amount he is currently asking. Players really can't risk not playing for a year. That would not only put him out all the money he is due this season, but the Jets would likely also fine him. And there is the chance of a lockout next year, which could possibly cost him more money.
