Joe Douglas firing has Cowboy implications . Ray Agnew former player and now asst GM on Detroit connected with the raising of the Edmund Fitzgerald out of Lake Michigan becomes the Jets new GM .

Woody Johnson is convinced to part with millions to hire Ben Johnson from the Lions to get Agnew to draft Shadeur Sanders and have Johnson work some magic . Davonte Adams Garrett Wilson not a bad combo for Sanders then Breece Hall & Brelan Allen in the backfield . Jets are not as far off as some teams .

The whole thing was doomed for failure from the start

January 2019 Adam Gase is hired

May 2019 Mike Maccagnan is fired as GM and Gase does it on an interim basis...so they let Maccagnan do free agency and the draft...then fire him. Ok

June 2019 they hire Joe Douglas

January 2021 they fire Gase and I guess because he didn't hire him, keep Douglas.

And now here we are in 2024 and they finally fired both. Should have ripped the band aid off and fired the GM mid season in 2019 before hiring a coach and then when the coach is gone, odds are the GM should go to. Just my opinion

The Jets short list reportedly has Ray Agnew Jr
Asst GM Lions and that team making its schedule look like they are playing William & Mary and Rutgers .

Then Mike Borgonzi asst GM in KC where they have won 3 SB’s since this guy has been in the FO.

How I wish Dallas would interview a bright young aggressive GM to take over day to day and let Jerry be in charge of Curtains and falling roof metal . Does anyone think for a moment a Howie Roseman in Philly is involved in “ stadium operations “ if Lincoln field in Philly has adequate parking and is the beer taps cold .

How were they supposed to know Aaron Rodgers would suck this badly? Everyone thought the Jets would be contenders this year. The networks gave them 6 prime time slots which is only eqauled by SF (defending NFC champs) and us. They did everything to surround him with talent and backed it up with a stout defense. The only person that should have been fired is Rodgers.

Joe Douglas had five yrs plus to put a team together . Aaron Rodgers was just one personnel move . Saleh never got it untracked .

DaBoll my goodness let’s not bring him up . Dallas has got to do better then those three next time around ,

Here’s a thought . Not one owner with common sense would hire Joe Douglas as GM or the two NY coaches , one fired the other soon to be as a teams HC
