That's one of my favorite episodes.
This and other black-and-white tv shows were before my time, but back when I was a kid, I spent a lot of time watching syndicated black-and-white tv shows late at night while everyone else (aka: normal people) slept. I am still a black-and-white tv show fan now. I have seen most black-and-white Andy Griffith episodes many times, but yet have only watched 2-3 of the color episodes of the show that aired in later seasons.

Funny story .. when I was a kid, I remember learning Ted Turner was colorizing movies back then and thinking he had done it to that show and other shows like I Dream of Jeannie, which started out in black-and-white as well .. Since I watched several of those shows on TBS back then and knew Ted Turner owned it and the Atlanta Braves, I hated that team for years because of him until I realized those shows switched to color on their own back when they originally aired :D

I don't remember what episode it was, or it may even be all in my head, but I could have sworn there was one when Gomer was taking a test and when he didn't know the tru/false questions it would bang two fingers on the table and if the left one tingled more it was true, right it was false...or something like that.

Either way, whether it existed or not, I've actually used that method on more then a few occasions. No lie.

Cheers Jim!

I know everyone will remember him for his "Golly!" and "Shazam!" catch phrases, but this is what I always think of with him ..

The longer version for those who have never seen it ..

When I saw that
" citizen arrest" across that video you posted I broke out laughing ,immediately recalling Gomer all animated &yelling " citizens arrest, citizens arrest" putting it all over& back on deputy Fife,,, seriously fuzzing him up,,,:lmao:

I liked him in Stroker Ace. Also, grew up hearing him sing before the Indy 500.
