Ernie did OK here until Emmitt and Aikman and Jay Novacek got hurt. Then Alvin Harper left in Free agency, and a couple of our O Linemen left in Free agency, and suddenly Ernie looked stupid. Norv also didn't look as smart in Washington and San Diego as he did here with the talent we had. I confess I tired of Ernie as well.
My point is I think it would have been easy to call plays with the talent Jimmy had assembled. jmo.

I think the jerry documentary riled some people.
But basically it is ego's, that is what ruined dallas back in 93 ,Jerry and Jimmy both had really big ego's.

I’ll admit if outside of the capital everything that actually occurred was under my leadership and that history and’s my deserved legacy were actively trying to be rewritten in my lifetime I’d speak loudly on it.

Jerry actually played the game, and I'm sure he had more to offer than just money. His issue was when Jimmy got all the credit, his ego couldn't handle it and when he wanted some credit, Jimmy's ego couldn't handle it. Neither was man enough to swallow their pride, so the man that writes the checks won that battle. I don't think Jerry is as involved in the football part of the business as much as many of the fans think he is. It's just hard to win, in any sport, especially with a salary cap. To many things have to fall into place. One injury can derail a season, one bad call can snowball, one turnover, a Rowdy avatar etc....it is what it is. Jerry is easy to blame, he brings it upon himself by doing many things, like the ones that you mentioned.

I think he wants people to believe that he's involved, more than what he really is. I don't see him sitting in a film room, going over personnel, schemes etc...he banks on those fans that still believe he's involved. Luckily, those fans are less and less each year. He's an easy target, and in that sense, he takes some of that pressure off others, but nowadays, he's lucky to remember to wipe, much less call a play. I'm gonna have to put my rowdy doll back in the closet, make some room for him, since you two are like two peas in a pod.
