Concerns aside I just dont see him falling to 40 and hes nowhere near the 9th pick. He falls in the 25-35 range imo.

I think this is pretty realistic.

I think you can gamble a bit on a guy with character concerns outside of the 1st round.

1st round is too important to risk on a guy with "true" concerns.

If he's there in the 2nd round he's worth consideration.

Although I'm not sure I would take him. With what the team has, I don't think CB is a position worth gambling on at all.

I think the CBs can be better than what they were last year.

Indeed. We need hard-working, solid character guys. The players don't have to be angels, but no more knuckleheads. We've had more than enough of those.

Smith is easily one of the most talented players in this draft, probably top 10 type of talent. I don't think there's a chance he falls all the way to 40 but if he did that'd be a tremendous value, character issues aside you have to take a hard look at him at that point. I'm a big Peterson fan and think he's the best player in this draft because of all the versatility but Jimmy Smith is the clear cut #2 IMO and not too far behind him. He's got unreal measurables and the production to match (only 11 completions allowed in 2 years), if he ends up a Cowboy I'd be ecstatic.

I think Smith's skills are on Par with Petersons in a lot of ways. However, I would not draft him. I've heard to many stories about him. I think he's a wasted pick.
