Bad parents kill people not guns. A bad parent isn't necessarily an immoral, uneducated or a bad. Many great people are horrible parents. A bad parent is an irresponsible parent who doesn't take enough time to spend with their kids and teach them values. I used to hate my father when I was kid because he was hard on me and expected great things of me. Now, I'm grateful I had a dad like that. He was a surgeon but he chose not to work the crazy doctor hours that many sureons work. He took time out of his day to raise me instead of staying late at the office to make more money. He sacraficed some personal glory to make sure I turned out okay. I was never a bad kid but I was the type of kid that could have been influenced easily. I was kind of naive and easily sucseptible to that type of thing. I'm glad my dad was there to steer me clear. I will never forget that and I'm going to do the same with own kids.

My dad being a surgeon had nothing to do with him being a great dad. He was like any great dad regardless of his occupation. But he valued family and took time out of his day to spend time with me. I wish more parents did that. If you are reading this, please be inspired and think about taking time to spend with your kids if you are able to do so; I know not everyone had the luxury like my dad to be able to control his hours but if you do, it's important to spend time with your family.

I didnt say anything about peoples rights to own or use guns, I simply said I have never used one and never will, nor will my son and future children.

rest assured if you are my neighbor, no one in my family will go crazy and go on a shooting rampage.

i do believe that falls under that whole drastic times call for drastic measures. even the most anti-nhra person would use a gun to save a loved one...hell how many times do you see people breaking the laws when it comes to familes?

the husband doing near 90 to get to the hospital across town so he can see his child born...the father of 3 who kills a man to save his children...
