5. Will the NFL draft a player from a local college?
Lane's Jacoby Jones was the last player from a local college selected in the NFL Draft when the Houston Texans grabbed him in the third round in 2007.
That streak may be broken by UT Martin linebacker Josh Bey and/or Lambuth receiver Roderick Jefferson.
UTM coach Jason Simpson called Bey the best professional prospect in his tenure, and the 6-foot-7 Jefferson is an obvious physical specimen.
Bey is too small for a middle linebacker, but his speed makes him an option at outside linebacker or even a safety.
Jefferson's production dipped with unstable quarterback play, but he also made a mockery of NAIA defensive backs in 2009 despite playing with a bum knee.
Others are getting NFL attention, including Bethel lineman Michael Jasper (390 pounds).
