According to an email obtained by Bloomberg, JPMorgan Chase & Co will be handing out free iPads to all associates in its global investment banking division (that's investment bankers for you and me).

In a pilot program to last until May 2011, the bankers will trial the device to see how well it fares as an additional mobile tool as well as being allowed to take advantage of the device for personal use.

Other big companies are distributing iPads to employees to help facilitate productivity.

I already know of a company regretting doing that. :muttley:

The ROI just isn't there at $600 a pop. A laptop offers far more value.

Mercedes Benz is rolling it out too.

Their idea is to be able to complete sales during the 'golden moment.' The time they have from the test drive/looksee and walking to the desk. Some people change their mind as they have more time to think. With the iPad, they can complete the sale in the car.

Kiosks. Instead of having to use touch screen capable tv's paired with computers they can use iPads.

I can think of many, many ways that companies can integrate it into their workforce.
