LB Travis Brisco, Urbana (OH)- Talk about a player nobody knows about and when I say nobody I mean nobody. Brisco has flown completely under the radar and many NFL teams don’t even have his name. He flies around the field with good speed off the edge making plays. His numbers are video game like with 18.5 tackles for loss and 12 sacks in just six games. Not to mention he already has 18 hurries and five forced fumbles. He earned GLFC Defensive Player of the Week honors this past week with 9 tackles, four tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks. In the three games he earned GLFC Defensive Player of the Week honors this season he has a whopping 12 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, and four forced fumbles. Brisco is an interesting player because his coaches describe him as a player who could play any position in their scheme from end to corner. He is athletic and faster than people will expect. His pass rush skills likely make him a 3-4 OLB projection at the next level.
P Chris Jones, Carson-Newman- After a down year in 2009 Jones has rebounded leading the SAC in punting with a 43.5-yard average on 25 punts. He has a season-long of 73 yards. One stat that goes underrated with punters is fair catches, which shows the hang time they put on their punts, and he already has five fair catches while landing 9 inside the 20.
WR Hakeem Moore, Towson- Moore was unknown entering the season and I first saw him against Indiana where he showed his blazing speed which would likely be in the 4.45 range. Moore is sixth in the CAA in kickoff return average (22.7), second in receiving yards per game (69.3), and is first in all-purpose with 147.2 yards per game. He leads Towson in receiving with 18 catches for 416 yards (23.1avg) and five touchdowns and has totaled 454 kickoff return yards. He will need to bulk up as he is believed to only weigh around 170 pounds but has potential to be a very worthy free agent signing.
