Quarterback Justin Fields has shared some medical information with teams ahead of next week’s draft.

NFL Media reports that Fields has informed teams that he is managing epilepsy. The neurological condition can cause seizures and is usually treated with medication, although different cases can call for different medical approaches.

Per the report, Fields has not been affected by the condition on the football field and that his symptoms have been less frequent in recent years. Other members of Fields’ family have outgrown the condition in their 20s and doctors believe that could be the case for Fields as well.

This might honestly work in his favor. This might hurt his stock just enough to slide to a team in a more favorable situation. It's definitely not enough to push him out of the first or to the twenties, most likely.

Or he could wind up in Washington.....

I don’t see this hurting his draft stock. Honestly it all depends on the severity/ how often he has seizures. But if it’s well controlled with medication. It shouldn’t be an issue.

I always thought he would slide before hearing this.

He may not go on Thursday.

He is very, very raw and not as good of an overall player as Jordan Love IMO.

Who is able to spend a first and wait? New England? I'd be stunned if BB think Fields is the guy of the future in NE.

Well, now maybe you know why SF is talking about drafting Mac Jones and not Justin Fields at 3.....

Whoaaaaa

Medication can help, but it's not exactly perfect. My brother also has epilepsy and at 38 has struggled on and off seizures, depending on what they do with the medication, how consistently he adheres to it.

Obviously, NFL teams will give him the finest care and neurologists, but it's still a serious thing.

IF he does that could eventually be a huge problem for us. Because with that defense he just has to manage the bus and not turn it over especially if they pick up some weapons on the outside. Hence why I'm praying we go pick up some war daddies up front our self.

It can be.

though, it all depends. Honestly there’s different kinds of epilepsy and the severity levels vary greatly.

I have worked with patients who have epilepsy and have seizures often, even requiring hospitalization.

I also work with patients who have not had any seizures in over a decade, since taking medication.

so I would imagine the teams are all digging into that to see where Fields falls on that spectrum.
