Kansas City Royals thread.

I figured since there are threads for other random teams, why not the perennial powerhouse Royals?

They have a lot of young talent, particularly Hosmer, coming on right now, and I have hopes that they can put together a good season if the pitching holds up well enough.

I used to be a big fan, and at one time baseball was my favorite sport. Since I got married (2003) I have only gone to one game. I used to go to at least a handful each year. Now I'm getting a divorce and I'm getting back into it (and a lot of other things I lost sight of). I'm going to the home opener on Friday and just bought tickets to the All-Star game in July.

They're off to a good start going 2-1 on the road against the Angels.

Sorry to hear about your divorce.

I was "somewhat into" the Royals until they went into the tank in the mid-80's. Weekend trips to town with my friends meant a party and baseball weekend. It was a lot of fun. The stadium was cool, the fountains were great. Watching Brett and Jackson was worth the trip.

Unfortunately that team became the laughing stock of the league. The Royals had a huge following and it all went into the crapper. If they can win more then 80 games this year I'll be impressed.

But baseball without a salary cap has ruined the game for me. I have not followed the sport at all since that time. I can't remember the last World Series game I watched.

random teams? the two threads are about the two Texas teams.....Cowboys forum, the Rangers definitely make sense....but I started the Astros thread cause I am an Astros fan, I hate the American League.

Still, this thread made me chuckle a bit.....I would have never expected a Royals thread to pop up......I like it.

Good luck this year....I am not a Royals fan, but Brett is one of my all time favorites.
