I would like to say to all of my fans that I appreciate all the love that you have showed me in Dallas. It was a good run..... Thanks less than a minute ago via Echofon

It isn't April Fools anymore so this is very interesting. Did he just get informed that he will be released?

Appears that way. You never know but that seems like a good bye to me...

It may be true but makes no sense at this time so I will take a wait and see approach. Why would the team release him now without knowing if they can get a replacement in the draft. The only way this makes sense to me is if they have a deal in place to bring another veteran safety to the team and have let Hamlin know.

I agree but Jerry basically said that he was entertaining the thoughts of releasing Hamlin and/or Flozell.

Yeah, Twitter is not a good source. But since it might be the actual player involved the team would have informed him/his agent first. Then the NFL and the media would pick it up from there.

So yes, Hamlin would know first and maybe he decided not to wait for the official statement.

Maybe they have confidence in Hamlin/Ball. This will be Ball's 4th year in the league and he showed steady improvement last year. I still think Hamlin's speed would be a liability in coverage and I think was projected at SS. No doubt they're going to try and pick up a safety in the draft imo, hopefully Owusu :D

I read something yesterday that they believe Mike Hamlin is going to be a playmaker for us. I really hope he sees the field this year. He gives us flexibility and leverage if Sensabaugh tries to holdout or get a lucrative contract that he kind of doesn't deserve.

Before the draft? If true, I'd be a little surprised at the timing.

Side note: even if this is not true, I don't think he is long for Dallas anyway.

Yeah, it would be very strange to release him before the draft.

Maybe Hamlin was told not to attend the off season program? Which is basically the same thing as a good bye

Yeah, they did that last year with Ellis, IIRC...

I don't know...seems strange to me...I'll wait til we hear something official before I get my hopes up

Since it says @Kenhamlin26, doesn't that mean ... someone posted it on his wall? I don't understand twitter.
