Kevin Austin Jr. - WR - Notre Dame

Legit deep threat and great with the ball in space

BUT…was suspended by the team for a full year and missed a full year due to foot surgery. Very little college production aside from the last 6 or so games he played in.

I like the talent but would be hard to pull the trigger on before the 5th

Yikes. Why was he suspended?

Two marijuana violations cost him four games.

Lack of production reminds me of Tyreek Hill in college. A dog is a dog on the field. Also, no I am not condoning or agreeing with Hills off field antics. Just purely football

Again, those 5th round picks gotta go somewhere.

He's got talent, but not a lot of production. He really struggled against press coverage this past year - his tape against Ahmad Gardner was awful.

In his defense, sauce shut down everybody lol

Really like this guy. He plays hard.

Agree. Physical player with rock solid build and nice athleticism.

He should be available at a spot that is later than his talent warrants due the 1 year suspension and 2020 foot injury.

The Notre Dame QB was awful in that game.

Gardner had a pick early (not while covering Austin) and the QB didn't want to throw at him.

Notre Dame had a turnover by the punt returner and with those 2 mistakes were quickly down by 10 points.

Once Cincinnati was up they unleashed the pass rush and the ND QB go happy feet.

Impossible to evaluate Austin in that game.

Side Note: Has anyone notice that Notre Dame TE (Mayer) ?

He'll be in the 2023 draft. Listed at 6-5, 251.

In my opinion he is better than any TE in the 2021 draft by a wide margin.

He has some terrific moves to juke defenders as a receiver and he is a quality blocker.

71 catches for 840 yards and 7 TDs in 2021.

Cincinnati even put Gardner on him a few times.

Take him in the 3rd and forget about it if the background cleared. He is a player and perfect 4th receiver.

You don't take a 4th WR in the 3rd round.

Austin is a guy that you take in the later rounds and hope he develops. The 3rd is still a Top 100 pick, a quality, premium type pick.
