Looks like he's going to be a key contributor this season. He played a hell of a game against the Titans on Sunday. Norm Hitzges said, "he is impressed by the depth on the defense", and I agree.

He is a lot more aggressive than I thought he would be and a very good athlete. From what I have seen so far he is pretty darn good as a covering line backer but he can get some pressure too.

guess there is a reason he was drafted in the 2cd...

He's built more like a 4-3 LB than a 3-4 LB but I love him in the nickle.

He's a very good backup now, and will only get better.

I would imagine he's still progressing from his injury. I wonder how much better he'll get physically as well as from experience.

He was all over the place in the nickel. Had a near INT, had a sack I believe and a pressure that caused an INT/TD , and lastly, he was involved in several passes defended.

This is why I'm not yet jumping off a cliff because of Carpenter's inactivity.

Bradie James and Burnett were both slow developers. Ware is the only linebacker that Parcells has drafted that had immediate success, but he seems like a poor comparison given his playing a different position in college and everything.

yeah, I thought Burnett looked prettygood out there (minus the TNEW accident :)). If he can stay healthy, I wouldn't be surpised to see him crack the starting line-up at some point next to James.

Our Depth at LB is freaking unbelievable. And almost everyone is versatile enough to play anywhere. Switching gears, but speaking of depth...how nice was the Al Singleton forced fumble yesterday?

Yeah, but you're level headed and possess common sense to go along with intelligence. Really unfair advantage.

:wink2:

Burnett looked great yesterday. I was a huge fan when we drafted him (Burnett's my grandmas maiden name!--only up here we pronounce it Burn-it) and very dissapointed with his injury problems.

Good to see him back on the field and making plays

He was my favorite.....2nd favorite.........3rd favorite.....oh who am I kidding I loved our draft last year.

He was the 2nd best linebacker in the draft behind Derrick Johnson. We got a steal in the second round. I called us drafting him, and was psyched when the cowboys nailed him.

We've drafted really well the past two years. I'd say we've drafted well since Parcells got here.

Burnett was always a playmaker in college and that's what counts and he's starting to make more plays in the NFL which is great news for us Cowboy fans!!

Norm's statement about our depth on defense is like 3 month's late.
That's why Shanle and Fujita were expendable.
