NFL | MRI results should not affect A. Branch's playing career
Fri, 27 Apr 2007 08:52:17 -0700
John Murphy, of Yahoo! Sports, reports medical tests performed on Michigan DT Alan Branch (shin) should not overly impact his future playing career in the National Football League. MRI results have showed little black marks on Branch's leg. However, the marks are likely related to shin splints Branch battled earlier in his collegiate career. Sources at Michigan indicated that Branch indeed battled shin splints, but never missed any game time because of it and that they later subsided once his weight and conditioning improved. According to Dr. Jason Decker, a graduate of Texas A&M's medical school, proper treatment for shin splints can either be rest, rehab or even an analysis of the type of shoes worn by the player. Decker added that athletes, including football, baseball and tennis players, are likely to have some form of shin splints or markings on their MRI's.

The fact that he's fat and lazy, however, might very well impast on his future playing career in the NFL.;)

You just described all the top NTs in the NFL:D

If we stay at 22, this is the guy I'm hoping for.

One of these guys slides every year because teams just have too much time on their hands between the combine and the draft and they outsmart themselves. Branch appears to get the honor this year.

Is it my imagination or do a lot of Michigan players get the "lazy underachiever" tag?

I think it might be time for Carr to go.
