Kick Returns

We have to fix our kickoff coverage man. The past 2 games we have had a kickoff returned for a TD. We had some mo going with the FG and back they come running right past our coverage.

On that return it looked like a couple of our guys (Austin included) just ran down and let the blockers destroy them. Spencer was out of position completely.

The biggest problem we appear to have is that we leave the middle of the field open. I thought on special teams you were supposed to force the returner to the side of the field so you can force him out of bounds and focus players in one area. We're not doing that well at all.

It's a huge problem. Hall was a hair from breaking 2 TDs on KO returns last week. K.Davis must be really good at whatever he does on STs because without him our coverage has been porous. We obviously cant expect to beat NE giving them TDs or even long returns on STs.

Davis wasn't able to play last night. Just worried he might not be able to go against NE on Sunday and we've seen 2 weeks in a role how poorly our ST coverage team performs without him. I guess Brown being injuried also hurts same group.

It would be nice if Carpenter could also contribute on ST when out there. We can't afford to give up a "free" TD against a good team.
