Yeah, me too. I've turn files into knives before, but I've never done that with a hammer and anvil. Always just grinding and sanding.

There are several of these types of videos on Youtube but its particularly great seeing kids do this. There is another who restores old Schwinn bikes to their former glory. My boys love the outdoors, appreciate history and have a special respect for veterans- all things that make me proud. But they still spend way more time on the PS3 than I would like.

They're big-time now but my favorite knife company started in a barn, making knives out of discarded saw blades. . The first version of this knife was $20 just a few years ago and I use mine often.

Did this in jr. high shop class. At least until someone narked to the school board and he got into trouble.
