Kid Sues Mom For "Hacking" Facebook Account

The mom's an idiot for raising such a dousche bag and should have just shut the computer off.

Hasn't even spoken to her son in like 2 weeks.

This kid should have been turned away. He should have been laughed at and sent home.

No, it's legit. The privilege to use a facebook account comes from facebook. The privilege to use an email account comes from the email provider. Under US law, I believe the only time a parent's consent in the matter is needed is when the kid is under 13. If your kid is 13 or older, they can tell you to stay away from their Internet land. If you force yourself on that virtual land, you are liable for a handful of things, as they are finding out.

But: The privilege to use a computer or to have access to the Internet comes from the parents. If your kid signs up for Facebook/email without your permission, you can take away every privilege they enjoy (while under your supervision), but you can't touch the Facebook account or email account as they are not yours.

I was under the impression that the kid was with Grandpa and Grandma while this was all be sorted out.

Isn't part of the situation that he left his account up and open on her computer?

That's how I understood it. The video I saw had the mother saying that part of his internet privileges included discloser of his passwords and sites he was visiting. Maybe I'm wrong.

In any event, this is something that should be handled at home.

I seriously cannot believe people are going to waste their time over something like this.

My wife's boyfriend once yelled at my son for telling his mom to "eat **** and die" after looking at his twitter account.

Rest assured, I set my wife's boyfriend straight! Such verbal abuse of children should not be tolerated! I called the mounties on my wife for being such an intrusive ***** and spread some unkind rumors about my wife's boyfriend's endowment. That'll show him!

I applaud this child. He has truly shown great maturity in taking this situation under control and filing a suit against his mother. Children's privacy on their parent's computers is nothing to take lightly.
