When I was younger I might have done something like that, but would have had to ensure there was no way to hit the building.

Well, I would have done something like that, but maybe not at that height. That high, I would have worried about the impact from the fall and hitting the rope's length too.

Though I remember seeing on NatGeo once, these guys in Africa who bungee jump off of a platform, except they don't use bungee cables. They used straight rope. The platform was like 30-40 feet high and they would jump off of it with just a ropes tied to their feet. It was crazy to watch.

Go to Youtube and search for "Bungee jumping for real men". They will show it. I can't embed it because it is a tribe and they run around naked. :laugh2:

...but yeah...those guys are nuts. Apparently its a testament to their manhood to use the longest rope....the closer they come to cracking their skull on the ground, the more of a man they are.....I've seen some whose heads actually bounce off the ground....I'm sure there are more that don't end so well. Hell, the platform they climbed was scary enough for most people....

...as far as this video...yeah, that's pretty ballsy, but not too crazy IMO. My friends and I used to do some pretty stupid stuff like that.

I'd have done both. When I was about 14 me and some friends got in trouble for taking the rope on the flag pole atop a hil in the park in our home town and swinging on it out over the cliffs and cacti. It's easy to feel invincible when you're young and stupid.

If I told you the stupidest thing I had ever done you'd wonder how I am still alive.

As a youth...I probably would have done that.

We did some crazy and dangerous things.

Rope swing that was really high up and swing out into the river even though multiple people had broken their arms or legs doing it.

Jumped off railroad bridges into the water and a variety of other stupid stuff that I would not do today.

I took a girl dancing at a lodge on the side of a mountain. To get there you had to ride a tram car 1500 feet up the side of the mountain. Am told it is the steepest tram in the world. Not highest, biggest, or anything like that, but steepest climb.

On the way down I noticed a roof hatch. To my delight it was open. I climbed out of the tram, swung over the side and looked in at my petrified date and 4 other people and screamed. I rode it all the way to the ground and then had to outrun the security guards who came to nab me.

She never went out with me again.
