Kiper Mock 1.0 1/23/24

I don't like how Kiper takes a subtle dig at Will McClay.

We always draft well. All Of The Time.
I have turned to dark side with you. Mcclay is overrated and the Joneses make all the real decisions. Let’s stop messing around we know how it’s going to end.

I might like Sumaiata better, who went 1 pick later, but maybe that’s falling in love with the traits. Watching them both Morgan is the better player right this second. He’s also older, more experienced and less athletic.

Honestly if it fell this way I’d have a hard time passing up Chop Robinson…. That first step is special. Von Miller/Parsons special.
Me too. I feel like this is the highest I've seen Sumaitata, but think he (like Guyton, really) has the higher ceiling than Morgan. If these 4 OTs are all on the board, I'd wonder if you can trade down 3-4 spots.

I also think Chop is slept on a bit in this class.

I think Kingsley Suamataia best spot is guard in NFL where he can operate in a phone booth. He really struggles when on an island with space and speed rushers.

Was Kool Aid McKinstry not on that list or am I just missing it?

This…doesn’t look he has the feet to be a plus OT.

I dont think this is true at all. Hes got some sloppy footwork but thats more about fundamentals and can be coached up

Agreed, his feet aren’t slow. He has the same issue with hand usage, when he hits his hands are heavy, but he’s prone to missing every once in a while. Ideal candidate to develop if we resign Tyron for a year.

I love scoring points as much as the next fan, but scoring points wasn’t a problem for most of the season. What was a problem was stopping the run. Kiper has 9 OTs in the first round. It’s a very deep class. We should be able to address the position in rounds 2 or 3.

I wouldn’t even stop at just the run…our pass D got throttled against good teams too.

We need more playmakers on D…mostly
in the middle but just about everywhere.

Watched the Dane Brugler piece on the Draft show - he said that while the OT run in the first round is deep, if you want a good OT get em early. As the depth has a big fall off after the first.
Just makes too.much sense to grab one at 24 - unless we can trade back just a few spots, and still grab one and some more draft capital .
