Kirstie Alley, ‘Cheers’ Star, Dies at 71

Kirstie Alley, a two-time Emmy-winning actor who rose to fame with her role as Rebecca Howe in the NBC comedy series “Cheers,” has died of cancer. She was 71.

Alley’s death was confirmed through her official social media presence, which shared a statement from her children.

I read about this yesterday. I thought she was so beautiful. She died of cancer and she was an off and on smoker, so I'm guessing that had a lot to do with it.

You never know with cancer; look at how many get lung cancer that never smoked

She was feisty and original; hated that she did not do Star Trek 3; Robin Curtis was like a cardboard cutout in comparison.
While most remember her from Cheers to me she will always be Lt Saavik

I got my first colonosocpy 3 years ago. They cut out 3 precancerous polyps
I HIGHLY encourage anyone over the age of 50 get it done.

cherished and grew up with. .....
