Anyone had one done before? My Doc & I decided today that I will have it done in a couple of weeks. Clean things up, repair a meniscus tear... nothing super major. He says 4-6 weeks to full recovery. If you have done this, what was your experience like - both the procedure and the recovery?

What are you saying? You won't make it into the mosh pit at the Big Four concert? :eek:hno:

You should have gotten it done before the season starts.

Just make sure you rehab it ...... but do not overdue it.

At our age rehab is essential ....... young pups can have surgery and be good as new in a few weeks

I've had one. Piece of cake. Walked out of the care unit that afternoon with little or no pain. Had a balky knee for a weekend (very tender), and then a couple of weeks of careful rehab and was back to normal a couple weeks later. Really, nothing to worry about, other than the anesthesia.

no problem there. I have been going to PT twice a week for a couple of months to balance my strength in the muscles around my knees (outside muscles were way over developed from years of cycling). Also trying to combat IT Band Syndrome. I like the PT's there & will have no trouble filling out a rehab assignment.

This is similar to what my friend, Scott Linebrink, had early on in his career. It's a very fast recover and last time I checked he was throwing over 95 MPH in MLB for well over a decade since then.

I had one.

Had an ACL tear in my right knee, rehabbed it, got back playing basketball, got undercut, tore my meniscus and then just had a scope to fix that up.

I was back up walking around in 2 days and took about 3-4 weeks to feel good about it again.
