I just got back from Florida. I went there to see my little sister who is moving into a new house in Tampa. I had to look her new address up on the web to confirm the zip code to send a package back to her.

When I looked it up on the internet, the site I used said there were 9 convicted and registered sex offenders in her area.

I know she does not know this, other wise she would have said something and thought twice about moving there.

Last night I was checking neighborhoods in Tucson where I have friends or family living. I decided to check my hometown in New Mexico. It's a small place.

I was shocked that there were about 9. The 3rd one I opened was a kid I knew. I used to box with his older brothers. His sister was in school with me from 1st through 12th grade. He comes from a really good home. Just made me sick to my stomach.

I have a very real reason for bumping this thread. One of these monsters got a little too close to someone I love last night.

Whatever else you do, make your kids aware that even if the stranger is charming they can't trust them.

Stickied for a while.

We had a guy that lived down the road from us.

Everyone knew there was not something right with him but had looked up to see if he was on the registry list and he was not.

Turns out he was a sex offender but that for whatever reason he was not on the list until later. (not talking about this site...it was some other site we looked on).

Before we found his name on the list the little one (what I call the wife's little sister) and her friend was outside playing.

He was driving by in his Green SUV and was flying down the road.

I guess the girls have been used to hearing the adults around the area and yelled out...Slow down.

Some people on our road just go too fast and there are plenty of kids in the area so most adults will yell that out.

Anyways he went crazy and stopped his SUV and started yelling, and then chasing the girls.

The girls ran into the home of the other girl and to her mom.

He put his hand inside the door to keep her from closing it as he was trying to get in.

She, the mother, took something and bashed his hand, closed and locked the door and then called the police.

The guy was arrested a little time later.

The guy was just lucky I was at work, the other girls father was at work and the little one's dad was out of town.

I think any of us probably would have beaten that jerk if we were there.

It was after that incident that we finally found his name on the site.

We saw him drive by a couple of times after that and I would give him a look of death when he passed by.

However he finally moved away.

The saddest part is we found out he used to be a teacher in another state before he had moved here.

I hate a pedophile as much as the next person, but lets remember that not everyone on this site is a child molester. In fact, if you click on the colored box, it tells what their crime was.
