Speaking at a Nike-sponsored event to something called the London School of Basketball, Kobe Bryant was asked who would win if he played one-on-one against LeBron James:

"I would. I would. That's what I do. One-on-one, that's easy. Playing one-on-one, that's how I grew up. That's like my thing."​

I used to hate Kobe, but he has really grown on me since the Olympics. I'm a Rockets fan first and foremost, but as soon as they are gone I'm a proud member of the Lakers bandwagon (because I live in Portland and love the Kobe hate around here).

Until then, I'd go Kobe in one on one. He's got it all. Great defense, great turn around, fade away jumber, great ball skills, etc.

And no, he's never played with his back to the basket in the league. Maybe high school, but not the NBA. I'm sure he's turned his back a few times, and made some nice passes, but anyone who actually watches the games and knows anything about the sport knows that he is uncomfortable playing with his back to the hoop.
