In a long list of how Jerry Jones hurts the Cowboys, on the field, we look at the draft.

With Mazi Smith (DT) and Guyton ( OT) both underwhelming performances,
the Cowboys are again, looking at draft at each of these two positions to plug the holes.

Don't be surprised if Dallas uses another 1st rd pick on either a DT or OT. This only sets this franchise back than moving forward.

This team has numerous holes, which WILL only get wider when free agency arrives. Players will leave Dallas seeking "greener pastures"
in contracts and even more, a far better chance to latch onto another team for a better Superbowl chance.

Wait a minute. I have been told here several times that the Jones are out drafting the entire league.
Agree and another example how the media, especially those directly associated with the Cowboys and Jerry himself, sell FOOLS GOLD to the fans

I can almost guarantee you the Cowboys are not drafting a OT or 1 tech at 12. Plus both players showed signs of developing into quality players just need a full offseason program.

Without the use of fa, not possible to put together a winning roster. You simply cannot hit on every draft class, when you miss that is what fa can cover

Stop expecting rookies to save the team. Fa's are the ones to truly change the team. Rookies only take you so far. But even with that I'd use most free agent money on defense and the draft as well.

You can’t give up on a bottom of the 1st round LT after year. Tyler S wasn’t good his rookie year…have some patience.

DTs traditionally take a while to hit their stride…we have to cross our fingers on Mazi.

But yea, I’m drafting a DT early.

Let’s not all forget about 2nd rounder Marshawn Kneeland. The jury is still out on him.

Did the Cowboys "give up" on 1st rd pick: Taco Carlton or "give up" on 2nd rd pick : Trystan Hill who was a DT.

You never give up after any player after 1 year…again Tyler S wasn’t good year 1 and was a monster year 2.

I think he can be a run stopping stud but I have zero faith hell be the Robin to Parsons as a pass rusher.

I have more faith in Sam being that guy which is saying a lot.

Pearce is one of my favorite targets at 12.

There is ZERO percent chance the Cowboys draft a OT. There is nothing wrong with Guyton.

Mazi improved over the season, that being said this is a good class to take DT. Not as many 1Ts as 3 ts but we need both.

I don't see us taking one at 12 but at 44 sure.

Guyton will improve. The OT in this class are underwhelming. As of today I lean towards punting on OL til later rounds. We need 2 CBs 2 DTS a LB RB a WR. That's a lot to ask from any team in any draft. Give me Barron, Grant, Golden, Schwessinger and any number of about 10 Rbs and we improve the team some.

Yes, it is the quickest way to the bottom along with poor qb play. It is too early to label Guyton a bust and this offseason is huge for him. He does have a lot of the characteristics that busts have though. I think we can make a decision on Mazi though. It is telling we have spent our two first round picks on two positions and both those positions are still massive needs. Not good. We will be feeling these misses (if true) for years imo.

Guyton needs another year but Mazi certainly has not shown enough to think he can be a quality starter. Bit and pieces are not evidence.

Yeah, I think his ceiling more than likely is being a DeMarcus Lawrence-type run stopping DE with occasional pass rush ability, which isn't a bad ting. I think at best he could turn into a George Karlaftis type that is somewhere between 6-8 sacks per year.

Not as bad as the people conducting those drafts.
