That's because Vita is the best D tackle in the league!Edoga is pathetic.
Hoffman was owned
Steele meh which is bad as run blocking used to be what he did best
but no one impressed last nigh in the run game
I think they actually actively rotated them. It seems that we've been trying to go to that this second half of the season instead of just putting him out there for full games and letting him learn on the job. I'm not a fan of playing Edoga, but without Richards, I guess that's the option if we want to go more slowly with Guyton. Frankly, I'd prefer for them to give Waletzko a shot at it. Edoga is a free agent next year and may opt to not come back on another cheap deal.Guyton was in for a spell and looked like a turnstile…..
That was one of the top run-stopping defenses, though, so it's more understandable. The pass protection held up well, but Tampa is not a great pass rushing team. The Eagles will be a good test for the line next week.Off line struggled mightily in running game. Edoga and Guyton both missed early blocks on plays that would have thrived.
Hoffman is a feisty player who gets by on that and knowing what he's supposed to do. He's generally going to be physically overmatched, especially against someone like Vea. It'll be interesting next preseason if we keep Tyler Smith at left guard how we handle right guard. Hoffman is getting the snaps there this season over Bass, but will we have them compete for the spot next year. Might even throw in Richards.Granted it was an extremely tough matchup, but Brock Hoffman looked like he didn't belong in the league as a starter last night. How he rebounds in another tough game this week will be interesting to see. Hes a guy with a lot on the line these last two games.
him carrying turpin was hilariousThat's because Vita is the best D tackle in the league!
He was beaten badly by Kancey, who also looks like a good DT. Hoffman had a bad night but it was still one night.Hoffman is a feisty player who gets by on that and knowing what he's supposed to do. I liked Kancey and wanted to draft him. Hoffman had some bad plays, but I wouldn't call it a bad night. He and the others protected Rush well enough for his best game. We couldn't get the run game going, but it wasn't just Hoffman who struggled there. He was beaten badly by Kancey, who also looks like a good DT. Hoffman had a bad night but it was still one night.
more like a busted turnstile.Guyton was in for a spell and looked like a turnstile…..
There was one replay in particular that had me rewinding repeatedly. Tyler Smith was matched-up one-on-one with Vea and Smith flat-out stoned him. Vea did nothing. They all had plays where they looked bad. But they were playing against a very good DL. Vea is a grown man.
