well, the first has been proven again and again

the second not so often..

People are creatures of habit; cultures take centuries to change; society shifts slowly

But you do better remembering the past while trying to change the future

I think the media and many are forcing the idea that Dallas has to select a TE in the first round, because this is the year of the TE, I think it is absurd, the cowboys already have TE's, who have not had much play because Dalton Schultz was the starting TE, when analyzing the videos I do not see much difference between the ones they already have and this year's prospects, except Darnell Washington, selecting a TE in the first round is a forced idea and has no basis.

Washington is a far better prospect than LeFluer. Plus his blocking is on the level of a good RT. The value and versatility he would bring to the running game having a 6th lineman on the field is a huge advantage. That's not even factoring in the advantages his size brings in the red zone.
Yes, his 2 TD’s this past season bear that out.

You do not draft a project in the first rd. And that is what Washington is. He is a devastating blocker; has good hands. Physical talent out the wazoo.

And that is about it. Minimal production; very limited route tree at this time. Now he might turn out to be great but he might just turn out to be a really great blocking TE who occasionally catches a pass.

Smith was considered a project last year, but his potential was worth the risk right?

If only they had taken Tony G, in 1997 and then Moss in 98.

How much that would of changed Dallas in the late 90's, early 2000's.

So we are citing his opportunities/production on a college all star team basically, it's only one ball, mean while he is trucking LBs, CBs, and Safeties 10 to 15 yards down feild while waiting on his receiving opportunity.

If Dallas were to draft Washington, this will tell you a great deal about how this offense will operate. They are looking for blocking answers and not pass catching answers right away. Washington has skills, and his college resume doesn't mean much if he is this devastating blocker he is touted to be. The idea of Martin, Steele, and Washington on the right side blowing huge holes for Pollard has to be their focus and a tremendous asset.

The illogic of people here is really something to witness. First, Schultz couldn't block the sun with an umbrella, so said the people on this board. And did we forget Witten wasn't a great blocker at first, and as his career went along, he became a liability when he moved before the snap.

So now Dallas has two TE's currently on the roster. Both were labeled as better than Schultz. Schultz was the progress stopper.

Now we enter this draft and people are foaming at the mouth about getting another TE. The argument ensues that Mayer is the pick. Some wring hands because of value. Yet value is questionable. This is not a deep draft, so say many of the "experts." So, if around 18 the first round drops to less talented players, then value is what it is and trying to suggest a specific position is less valuable isn't necessarily a fact.

I fail to understand the thinking that all drafts are the same and all first round picks are the same. Value only applies in one specific draft being held. A QB heavy first round that doesn't have many or any cornerbacks, if you're looking for a corner, then value is different than if you are looking for a QB.

I have stated my position that offensive line is critical. Last year Dallas was going down hill with the line because of decisions the front office made. While the defense seems to control the other team well, Dallas still needs to score.

But Washington, while not a popular player or position, if selected, Dallas would really be looking to run the ball more and all the rumors are true.

If I looked like Brad Pitt I could be pushing up on Angelina.
