The loss last year was heartbreaking for the team and fans. But the fact that this team has experienced the niners physicality and scheme and has the chip on their shoulder from losing in such a terrible way makes this team much more mentally prepared for this game.
Mike said he sensed the team was jittery before last years game (why he didn’t calm them down is beyond me but that’s another topic). This time they are the road team and not the favorite. I think all these things contribute to the psychology for this team being in a mindset that has been most effective for this team; the underdog/doubted mindset.
This team has been tested all year and is 6-2 against teams over .500. I’m confident that if there’s ever a time for it to be our day it’ll be Sunday.
