Cecil Lammey NE gets DEN 4th rd pick in 2011, DEN gets NE 6th rd pick in 2011 and Maroney

Sets up a Choice for Mankins trade. Bad move on our part, but I could see it happening.

Okay, not that bad at all. It's a balanced trade I guess.

Barber. Has to be Barber if it's a RB. You have to offset salaries. You don't trade a good RB then eat TWO large salaries. (Barber and whatever you sign Mankins too) Barber's salary will help offset what you eat when you re-sign Mankins.

The Broncos today executed a trade for New England Patriots running back Laurence Maroney. Maroney was the Patriots' first-round pick in 2006.

Broncos coach Josh McDaniels was New Engl offensive coord from 2005-08.

Maroney last season rushed for 757 and nine touchdowns.

The Broncos sent a 2011 fourth-round pick to New England, and the Patriots also gave up a sixth-round pick next season, according to ESPN.

Wouldn't it take more than Choice to get Mankins? Do the contracts have to add up like in the nba?

Interesting move by New England. What do they have at runningback right now that they're so high on?

It doesn't really matter. Maroney has been hurt most of the last couple years, maybe more. They have done OK without him and will continue to do so. I don't think they are necessarily high on anyone. It is a way for them to garner better picks from players that are not capable of playing much.
