Our Dallas Cowboys have the league leader in passing TD (Dak), receptions (CeeDee), rookie record consecutive field goals (Aubrey) and interceptions (Bland).

How amazing is that?!

First, what are your thoughts on such a feat? Second, has any tem in NFL history had this mix, or anything close, of league leaders at so many different positions on the same team in the same season?

Things that make you go hmmmm....

If you open it up to things like "rookie consecutive FG streak," I'm sure you can find a billion obscure stats where a team has led the league in lots of things.

I can tell you that the last time a team had the pass TD, receptions and INT leader was 1959, when Baltimore had Johnny Unitas, Raymond Berry, and two of the three guys who tied with 7 INTs (Milt Davis, Don Shinnick).

But of course, those three stats are arbitrary. I'm sure you can find teams that led in three or more equally important stats in the same year. For example, the 1999 Rams: Warner led in pass TD and passer rating, Faulk led by a mile in yards from scrimmage, and Kevin Carter led in sacks. They even had the leader in kick return TDs (Tony Horne, with 2), so special teams got in the act for them too.

That is great.

I love it that this team is typically stocked full of talent.

even allegedly because we have a terrible GM who is too controlling, I mean I don't know how we build all these great teams and look at some of the threads going around Cowboys are still number one in a lot of categories and top three when it comes to playoff wins playoff appearances and Super Bowls it's weird after all this drought that fans are freaking out about teams have not overtaken us...

I don't know how many great things we had in 2016 but I know we had rookie of the year in Prescott but we also had a running back I think it's top three all time rookie season with a rushing crown to boot.. and some other things I mean it is nice...

Go win Super Bowls then those stats would be amazing.

  • Roger Staubach retired as the all time leading passer in NFL history
  • Tony Dorsett won a National College Football Championship and a Super Bowl in the same stadium back to back years.
  • Staubach and Dorsett became the first Heisman backfield to win a Super Bowl
  • Danny White led the league in passing yards and TDs and Everson Walls led the league in interceptions.
  • From 1971-1977 The Dallas Cowboys had 4 Super Bowl MVPs in only 3 Super Bowl games.
  • Tony Dorsett holds a record that can never be broken and was only tied once in almost 50 years
  • Emmitt Smith led the league in rushing yards and Micheal Irvin led the league in receiving yards without a 4K passer
  • Tony Dorsett became the 1st RB to rush for 1K or more in 6 consecutive years.
  • Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin led the league in rushing yards, rushing TDs and Pass receptions, Receiving TDs respectively and won the Super Bowl.
  • Since 1990 Troy Aikman is the only QB to never throw for 3500 yds in a season but win 3 Super Bowl rings.

Thats amazing with Things make you say hmmmm when you win 5 Super Bowls, go to 10 Super Bowls/1 NFL Championship game, and go to 17 NFC Championship games in 30 years (Landry and Johnson) instead of no NFC championship games in 30 years (Jerry Dumbo GM Jones).

Stats are for loser and the Real Dallas Cowboys have stats and rings. That is Amazing.

Don't hate the player. Hate the game.

Don't give me Arlington Jonesboys stats and milestones like you have been dominating the NFL the last 30 years like the Dallas Cowboys actually did from 1966-1995.

What the heck is a cornball?
