Leap seconds to be eliminated?

"Leap seconds are an inconvenience to the telecommunications people, but there are many other users of time who should be considered," said Ken Seidelmann, a research professor at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and former director of astrometry at the U.S. Naval Observatory.

So, what they're saying in essence is that time is malleable. Quite an interesting debate.

lol. People only look at the affect in hand and not as a whole.

Sure, it won't affect me in my ever day life, but there are a myriad of things it can and will affect. NASA specifically will definitely have to account and adjust for it. Anyone who does anything in space. (like satellites, or other object tracking, etc)

Time is relative to motion. The problem with what they are wanting to do is the fact that the time they are talking about is the time that is relative to the Earth's orbit (motion) around the Sun. :)

They are so FAIL! ;)
